Redemption

Even though I was utterly gross-i-fied (and I'm sure you were too) by Teddy's display the other day, he has since redeemed himself. Not one accident in the last two days. Hallelujah! And, to top off his run of great kid behavior, he's been playing and occupying himself in an approved manner (nothing being destroyed) while I work on finishing my book. What a cutie. Today I ran out and clicked a few shots of my sweet little boy. And, since I had my camera out, and I was feeling so good, I took some time to organize my crazy office space. I was clueless of what to do with my piles of YA lit. I stacked and organized my books for viewing pleasure. What do you think?

Hope you have a great weekend...and if you want to delight in viewing enjoyment, stop by my house and see my nicely stacked books.

Do you ever feel bad when your younger kids get the shaft?

When George, my oldest, turned two, I spent weeks planning an Easter Birthday extravaganza! At that time I was also 9 months pregnant and days away from expecting my second. Yet, despite the similarities between George's 2nd and Teddy's 2nd, Teddy ended up with the short end of the stick, the lack luster party, the 'what can I throw together today' birthday celebration. I do feel slightly guilty that Teddy didn't have the all out, Easter Egg hunt, 20 toddlers running wild, birthday party that George did; but, then again I realize now that I was slightly crazed to have thrown such an extravagant party for a 2 year old.
This time around, there was no Easter Egg hunt (come on, let's face it, it would be too weird for that in October). Instead, we had friends and family come over for dinner, cupcakes, and ice cream. Teddy chowed down his chili smothered potato, blew out the two candles on his cupcake and then tore into his gifts...ignoring all the cool cars and stuffed toys for a piece of candy he found! All evening he answered a short growly "two" when asked how old he was and that my friends pretty much sums up the chain of events, so it was pretty easy to catch the important moments on film. Here they are below:

A boy and his kitty

I picked up this half Siamese kitty at the pound over a week ago to help satisfy our home's other inhabitant problem...MICE! When you spend a great deal of time re-constructing an old house and you leave the doors open, you are bound to get a few mice; which unfortunately turn into a great deal of mice. Since we already feed, bathe and endlessly clean up after a great English lab, I thought it best to choose a younger cat to insure no animal cruelty (towards each other). As soon as I brought home Millie (our kitty), Teddy, my youngest and most exuberant, felt it was his new calling in life to 'cater' to the kitty. I found Teddy in my room snuggling, canoodling, malling, and drooling over our new housemate.

The following were exerpts I took from Teddy's mumblings and all-telling facial expressions:

oh, here you are kitty... I will pick you up and give you all my love and make you my best friend...
and now I will pet you, and lock hold you in place to keep you...safe...Shh Kitty, go to sleep...finally I can rest too...

Teddy...my BEAR.

Teddy is a bear because...

1. ...he eats more than George or Henry, and sometimes more than both of them combined.

2. ...he raises his hands in the air and then full body slams you with his little baby body.

3. ...he drools, and foams from the mouth constantly

4. ...he trys to give you big open mouth kisses from his wide open, drooly, foamy mouth.

5. ...he loves to cuddle!

I love my little Teddy Bear!

One Year Ago Today

One year ago today,
I woke with an ache in my back
Swollen hands, legs and feet,
My body suffered an alien attack.

5 pairs of pants, and 3 stretched shirts,
lay on the bedroom floor,
as I desperately searched the closet
tossing out more and more.

Around ten I dialed the doc,
"I cant take it anymore."
"Are you feeling regular pains?"
she asked as I headed out the door.

Regular Pains? Gimme a break,
Just one look and you'll see-
achey, swollen, tired and bloated,
Today I'm having this baby.

"You don't want to have him too early,
he'll come when the time's right."
"No offense doc, but I know,
This kids coming TONIGHT!"

One year ago today, My sweet little Theodore was born! It has been quite the eventful year, having moved from Hawaii to Utah. In the first year of his life, Theodore has been to Oahu, Kauai, The Big Island and Utah. He has been held by his Great grandma Florence (TUTU--Hawaiian grandmother) and carted around by his two rascal brothers. We feel so blessed to have him as a member of our family. He is so tender and sweet! Happy One Year Old!

Tongue, Drool, Drool, Drool, Tongue

Hi, I am Theodore! If you are looking for a good time, so am I. I would love to sit and listen to you talk. My friends say I am a good listener because I am so attentive. I will watch your every movement while you gab on and on, but please talk about me. I love when people gush about me.
My idea of a good time would entitle a lot of lip service...hahaha...

Ok Here are some pictures of me playing with Theodore this morning. He was acting like a little crabby demon baby because I wasn't giving him my undivided attention. When I finally sat down to hold him, he cheered right up. He just wanted to play I guess. I can't hardly believe that he is 6 1/2 months old. It goes by so fast! He loves to sit and drool. I think that he must be teething because the amount of drool coming out of his mouth has increased 10 fold. His favorite thing to do is stick out his tounge. If you stick out yours too, he giggles and then does it again. My little Teddy bear is such a cutie.
