oh baby.

Rachael brought all the cute decor and darling cupcakes. I just supplied the house. Not a bad deal, I must say, considering I got me a taste of the glory in throwing a sweet baby shower for my darling friend Emily. (Oh, and fyi, the last line is a total shout out to Nacho Libre...the man I receive all inspiration from. Such a stud.)

Here's a picture of the goodies. Enjoy and have a great weekend.

P.s. If you want to see more, I have them posted on my photography blog. Follow the huge, possibly annoying, circle button on the left to my photog blog.

Jackson--the reason for two posts in one day.

Really, I've gotten lazy about posting.  Every four days or so, something will come to mind...like poop (see earlier blog post of the day) but other than that, my mind is mostly a blank slate.
So today when I opened my pictures folder and found this:

I couldn't resist posting again.  His little blue eyes were so captivating, that I found myself scanning through the entire picture file.

And so I figured, well, since it's my second post of the day maybe just one more indulgence, like this:

But after I fell in love with his little puppy shoes, I decided, what the hey, why not post MORE.  And More.  And More.
Hence, that's why the rest of the post is all pictures of Jackson, the sweet baby boy of Tammy and Jason, who trusted me to take Connor's pictures and preserve the memory of him being 2 1/2 months old.

And to top it all off, this last picture stole my breath away and made me think, aww,
would it be so bad to have one more baby?
Just one sweet cuddly newborn to hug and love on?
(ok, rest assured there will be no more babies produced from this factory . . .
but still, this next picture is my favorite.)

so, remember how I said I wouldn't shoot any more family shots?

I totally lied.  Well, not on purpose, but when Jamie called and asked me to take blessing pictures of beautiful Shaylee,
well come on now, I couldn't resist her china doll face.  Isn't she a doll?
Baby girls that look like little dolls steal my heart.

I love this next shot so much for her big blue eyes and the little line of drool.
Priceless!

ah.  sleep.

(there's nothing as beautiful as a sleeping baby.  When my boys and Ruby were younger I would watch them sleep and kiss on their little ears and feel so happy that I had them in my life.)

Photography Note:  I took all these shots in my home using window light.  If you are ever in a bind and need studio lighting quick, just open the the curtians or blinds of the largest window when the sun is pouring in.  If the sun is too harsh and casting too many shadows, just put up a thin white curtian to filter the light.  And voila!

blue.

Ok, I couldn't resist and I added more. Truman is such a cutie! Holy huge blue eyes Batman!

Hey Ally Condie, there's more to come, but I thought you would love to look at these while I'm editing.

A miracle.

I've known Kristine since just after Henry, my second oldest, was born. Since that time, I have also known of her desire to be a mother. Over the years I have watched her and Andrew endure countless trials on the road to becoming parents. And heartbreakingly so, years have passed without the pitter-patter of little feet filling their home. - A sound I take for granted everyday.

That is, until now! Just a few days ago, Kristine and Andrew were blessed with the miricle of a baby girl. A wonderful young woman gave her baby up for adoption to Kristine and Andrew. It touches my heart to see the gift of life given from one person to another. To the sweet, wonderful, birth mother of Aria, I want to say Thank You!

Jinger and Grace and party hoppin'.

Yesterday was the day of Parteeeeees. Nick, our very close and chummy friend, turned a whopping 25. (How would that be? Sigh.) And then my ultra-cool, aerobics-lovin-Lady friend, Tracey, and her hubby, Finn had a rockin summer bash. (And when I say rockin, I mean it...there was a DJ! And yes, I danced a wee jig as I dug into their yummy party cuisine)
Then last, I snuck over to my once a month ladies night.

Ok, so what does my travelogue have to do with the super sweet baby shots on this post. Well, nothing really. Just that at the rockin' summer bash, Mark and I saw some super cool friends that we have known since Mark and I were dating. They just had their fourth baby.

So I seized the 'shooting a newborn' moment and snapped away. This little gal is only two weeks old and look how chunky lovely she is. ahhh. Sweet sweet baby.

Ah. The last one is my favorite. So sweet.

Janessa . . . turning 1

Little Janessa is turning 1 . . . tomorrow. That reminds me that little Ruby's first birthday is also just around the corner. sniff, sniff. Oh, Janessa, I am sure your mommy is just as sad that you are growing so big. With your darling red curls and happy coos, you just won my heart over. Happy Birthday Sweet Girl.

I Just Cant Get Enough

This sweet little doll sure does love her daddy. Since she turned seven months yesterday I though it only appropriate to have a little Ruby photoshoot. I love you little girl...

Normally this next one would be in the trash pile, but I couldn't resist that tummy!
